About Tommy

ThomasDoyle01.jpg

Tommy Doyle (he/him) is a director, collaborative theatre maker, writer, and performer. In Tommy's theatrical processes, he approaches the human brain as an excavation site in order to create art that delicately reveals the tortures of the human psyche and invent play worlds that are terrifyingly familiar, yet blissfully uncanny.

Having grown up in the ballet, a high art where there is always a "right" and "wrong," Tommy loves to explore work that is physically precise and extremely intricate, but on the other hand loves to break the mold and do things that are entirely unexpected and unorthodox.

"Oftentimes in our desperation to find clarity in sense-of-self, we only lose ourselves further. I find a certain fascination for characters that feel as though they’re fleeting, disappearing, or have a certain separation from their identity."

Tommy has his BA in Directing from Pace University. He has additionally training from The Drama League, the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, and The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts–where he has also worked as a teaching artist.
